These dudes (Cory Nitta + Zak Mering) are constantly releasing new tracks... good ones too. I just got a chance to check out their new stuff and thought you should hear it. They use have a great Mirah remix (100 knives) that I can't seem to find. I'll try to get it.
Here is is another great track that they've had available for lil while. If you like the one that's available above, you might also dig this.. Their CD is now available on CD Baby. Support these guys. They're doing good things.
Here is also a link to more free tracks.

Frank is a dirty man. I thought the 32 tune mix he put out was ridiculous but he had to go and do it again. Mellow me down... rhythm me up... now make it funky... ok now let's slow down again. Frank is the master blender. Take a deep listen cause he's put a lot of flavors into this creation. "Like the 32 Tune mix, this is another double length mix, also with 32 tunes (assuming both sides of the Alice Russell 7″ count as two separate tunes) and also with a range of different type of stuff on it, but this one has less of the Soul and Balearic and a bit more of the Funk and Afro-Beat. There ...

I woke up this morning all disgruntled. So I went in search of something that would smack me back into reality... Then I realized... I had this crazy ass funky kingston mix that I had been saving for a time just like this... Ahhh YESSS! I'm sharing it with you. Be thankful.
It's the early 70's. Kingston, Jamaica is abuzz with funky reggae sounds, new electronic wah-wah guitar pedals, moog keyboard synthesizers, and tons of funk-dafied reggae experimentation from King Tubby, Lee Perry, Bob Marley, Big Youth, The Skatalites, and the Pioneers. This episode of the Dub Session podcast takes a trip to Kingston's early 1970s funky reggae era, with some great reggae covers and versions of funk tunes. Episode 40 ...

So Saturday is here. It's cold as shit outside but the sun is shinning hard. I had to get up early (9:23 am) to catch the breakfast @ the coziest/tastiest little french cafe jawn in philly (Lutecia Cafe). I won't be back outside again till 10 (Party @ The Raven Lounge - 1718 Sansom St. Philly from 10pm-2am) but until then... I'll be playing this while I get some shit done. This mix is mostly a variety of funky break beats blent well with a few tasteful and soulful joints. It's a bit contageous (you'll be freakishly shaking your legs to the rhythum). 'New funk-breaks influenced Mix from Soulinus who is part of switzerlands "Beats on Tap Inc." collective featuring ...

We all like to go on random book hunts at the local Barnes and Nobles which are always a good time, but once in a blue moon you'll stumble upon a true gem. That one book that fully satisfies your thirst for the ultimate odd, witty, well written, visually captivating and reasonably priced book of all time. It's the one that glues you to the seat and makes you forget everything prior to your amazing discovery.
This book is no fucking joke by any means. It's lengthy, detailed, hard to understand, and serious! But... it's worth it. If you haven't read anything by Phaidon Press, please hurry yourself to the Architecture, Photography, and/or Design section of your bookstore and look for ...

I was just at the Ritz to check out 10th & Wolf, the new flick about a kid that finds out his dad was a mobster and kills people for a living so he leaves home (Philly) to become a marine but ultimately ends up fucking up a sergeant (for misleading him about the war in kuwait), running away with a jeep in the wrong direction and is eventually sent home to deal with some family matters by the feds. I'm not gonna explain the whole family matters part cause that's basically the whole movie but I gotta say, shit gets crazy... mad people get shot, lots of drugs are being tunnled, dirty family secrets get exposed, intense feelings are ...

This remix is the shit!!! If you're familiar with any of Fourtet or Koushik's remixes (and you dig ‘em), then you'll definitely dig this... hard. Mallard murders this remix of Mos Def's “Mathematics” – “You wanna know how to rhyme you better learn how to add It's mathematics”. This remix reminds of something that a mutation of DJ Shadow and Thomas Newman would stumble upon by accidentally playing a song from one of his soundtracks over the Mathematics Acappella… it could happen! Regardless - I'd rate this remix high in the category of seriously on-point cinematic remixes - check eeem!

If you live in the city, you might find the natural state of noise pollution calming. The bus is constantly cutting people off, the crazy lady is always lying down on the side walk arguing with the pigeon, the drummer is banging on plastic bins on the corner, the cars are blowing their horns at the idiot that can’t parallel park for shit, and of course everyone is talking on their cellular telephooones... it’s not for everyone but it really makes me feel at home.
I stumbled upon the Rastafarian Siblings a few months ago through a friend of a friend. The track tesss tesk came on and I immediately began to think I was listening to some lounge music, where ...
