Big Beat. Psychedelic. Southern Rock. Whatever it is, it’s good. Peter Furgiuele, Nicholas Furgiuele, Pete DeLorenzo and Match McCalvin makeup Gringo Star, a funky fresh sound to country meets rock’n'roll. They say it sounds like Peter Furgiuele, Nicholas Furgiuele, Pete DeLorenzo and Match McCalvin making noise. Fair enough. But this isn’t neighbors waking you up in the middle of the night noise. It’s not fingernails on a chalkboard noise. It’s noise you’re going to want more of.
Atlanta four-piece, previously known as A Fir-Ju Well, is currently on tour and not something to be missed. All four members write songs, and then instrumentation is assigned. Their versatility on the instruments produces diverse yet complimentary songs such as “Overfed,” a catchy song with a creative sound. “Together,” is a slower harmonized melody with an important and inspiring message. “Only you can save the world/ But you can’t save the world by yourself/ Or leave it up to somebody else/ Together/ We can do what’s needed to make/ A world free of hunger and hate.”
They’re tearing up the east coast with their soon-to-be signature sound, hitting up cities such as Atlanta, Brooklyn and Cincinnati. If they’re coming to a city near you, check them out. Cuz hey, not only is their music engaging and worth the listen, but they definitely aren’t bad on the eyes either.

We had a BBQ for my mate Bee’s 21st on the 17th May 2007 at Nic and Ben’s house and Gringo Star came along to join in the fun. They are really nice and fun lads. Wish then all the luck for the future. Vicki
